Honda Goldwing Aspencade

Ben rides to a "Show and Shine".

It was not so much the show and shine that I was going to see, I had been talking with another Goldwing owner on the web (meet him on the Steve Saunders Forum) and we agreed to meet at the show and shine at Riddells Creek.
I had only just got the carbies back in (for the 2nd time) a few days before, so it was a good test run before I left for Wagga Wagga.
It was a bit cool and overcast, but the forecast said it was going to fine up, so I headed off and pretty much rode straight there, which is a little rare for me as it involved a good slab of freeway ...again, had to test me and bike at 110kph. (We went fine)
Got down there in plenty of time to have a look at the other bikes parked there. Not much in the show and shine that was all that interesting but the car park was worth a look..... There were a few other Goldwing's there.
It may surprise you to know that these were the first new 'Wings that I had seen... ever!.
In no time at all I suddenly noticed a few new wings gathered around my old ride....

WOW! Amazing bikes and really friendly riders! What a great bunch of people and bikes...and the best bit? They ride their bikes! We ended up doing about 80+ miles with them. They did a lot more on the day. I was worried that they might poke fun at my little old pony, but not at all. I think they really understood that we all have to start somewhere, and this is my start, and they were very encouraging...... So much so, I invited them home for a cuppa... Its the best that my front lawn as ever looked (or cost!)

You sure get more than a few looks when there is ~90 thousand dollars worth of motorbikes parked on your front lawn!
Nice bunch of folks, I hope we can ride together again some time soon. It was my first group ride and I was very apprehensive, groundless fears it turned out, they left plenty of space between the bikes and there was no speeding at all. I am going to chase around and try and get the CB module to go into the system on the bike so we can keep in touch as we ride.
